Ontario is an interesting blend of big cities (like Toronto with it's world class culture and trade), 'one-horse-towns' (like Sarnia with the Petrolium Industry, Windsor with the Automotive Industry, and Hamilton with the Steel Industry), small towns (like Tecumseh and Elmira) and farmland, which usually connects all the others.  Sprinkled here and there, amongst the small towns and rural areas, you find glimpses of the past.  They can be in the middle of a farmer's field, or just down the street from a Strip Mall.  As you can probably guess, I take the roads that are 'off the beaten track' or go 'the long way' to get where I'm going.  Day trips always provide a unique opportunity to wander down a lonely road and find the treasures I'll post on this page, "Old Ontario".  I hope you can feel some of the nostalgia that those trips spark.
