Animals in this gallery are tame enough to roam free:  pets, barnyard animals, birds or sea creatures.  When I began to cart my camera everywhere, my little terrier,  'Decker'',  became my constant companion.  We were by the river on one such outting in late February and he was lagging behind as I hurried to the car to warm up.   When I looked back and spotted the cracked pavement, the golden glow of the late afternoon sun, and Decker's hesitation, I knew I'd found my winner for the day.   I don't miss an opportunity to get animal shots and I have a friend with a barnyard full of animals I can follow around.  There are horses, goats, chickens and roosters (and hence baby chicks), a pot bellied pig, and a huge black/white dane.  A cornucopia of opportunity.  If I have a moment of boredom, I know I can always drop by 'the farm' for some animal action.
